About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Nuisance bikes.

    Action taken:

    Officers have carried out regular patrols in the area using both marked and unmarked vehicles to tackle nuisance vehicles and improve community safety. As part of this work, officers joined local councillors on drive-arounds to discuss community concerns and identify problem locations. A number of bikes have been seized and people have been arrested in connection with related offences. Several targeted days of action have also taken place, with extra patrols focused on locating and dealing with nuisance vehicles. Information gathered from these activities is helping officers build a better understanding of ongoing issues and support future enforcement action.

    Fly tipping.

    Action taken:

    Officers regularly patrol rural roads and country lanes where fly-tipping is reported. They work closely with local councils and partner organisations to address issues and help keep the area clean and safe. Officers also encourage residents to report incidents of fly-tipping, as information from the public helps agencies identify problem areas and take appropriate action.

    Action taken:

    Officers have carried out proactive road safety patrols using both marked and unmarked vehicles, resulting in a number of traffic offences being dealt with. Residents have been encouraged to take part in Community Speedwatch, a scheme that allows trained volunteers to monitor vehicle speeds in their local area and raise awareness of speeding concerns, and a number of local residents have signed up to take part. Officers have worked with Community Speedwatch coordinators to review local traffic data and better understand issues affecting the area. Where residents and councillors have raised concerns about road layouts or traffic management, they have been directed to the organisations responsible for making changes, such as the local council or highways authority.
