About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    CHB - Tackling ASB, Violent Crime and acquisitive Crime in the Scunthorpe Town center.

    Action taken:

    Days of action in the Town Centre including officers being in plain clothes and uniform. Deployments with the passive drugs dog. Partner agency walk arounds with drugs services and Safer Neighbouhoods.

    Retail Crime on Scunthorpe High Street.

    Action taken:

    We will have dedicated officers within the High street area of the Town Centre. Visible and engaging. Focusing on tackling shop theft and working with retail partners to prevent crimes from happening. We will be targeting the top offenders and dealing with them as a priority, applying for Criminal Behaviour Orders where appropriate.

    Drug Dealing

    Action taken:

    The Town ward are dedicated to tackling drug dealing and issues that it brings to the Scunthorpe Town Centre area. We conduct patrols in the area in uniform and plain clothes, conducting stop searches where grounds allow. We also build on intelligence and execute warrants at problem addresses.

    Street sex workers and associated ASB

    Issued 01 November 2025

    Action taken:

    Dealing with problems on West Street and surrounding roads regarding sex workers.

    Nights of action targeting these areas are ongoing throughout the months. Officers work on a late turn , into the evening.

    Street Drinking on Frodingham Road. Anti social behaviour and littering.

    Issued 01 November 2025

    Action taken:

    Deter street drinkers who are breaking the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) on Frodingham road. Disrupt gatherings and issue Community Protection Warnings. Joint patrols with NLC and WISE.
