Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Speeding and Road Traffic Offences continue to be raised as concerns to the local community.

    Issued 11 June 2026

    Action taken:

Officers continue to conduct speed checks in the area to tackle these concerns. We have and will issue education, warnings and enforcement to offending vehicles. We have visited some local rural areas to do speed checks with the pro-laser and we will also be looking at working with ERYC to consider further potential traffic calming measures Special Constables also support our efforts in addressing these issues, along with volunteers in the local Community Speedwatch groups who also monitor traffic.

    Actioned 11 August 2026

  • Priority:

Members of public are reporting allegations of people producing, dealing and selling illegal drugs in the community.

    Issued 11 June 2026

    Action taken:

Officers will continue to develop intelligence from information reported by members of public. This will help officers deal with drug supply and use. We will take positive action such as stop searches and conducting warrants when it is lawful to do so. We will endeavour to bring offenders to court and make referrals to support agencies for substance misusers.

    Actioned 11 August 2026

  • Priority:

Into the Summer months, there is a distinct increase in Antisocial behaviour generally due to better weather conditions / lighter nights.
Reports are receive may include youths on pedal cycles riding recklessly and causing issues. There are also new reports being made with regards to illegal electric bikes and scooters being used in the area.

    Issued 11 June 2026

    Action taken:

Officers will endeavour to continue high visibility patrols in hotspot areas, identifying those involved where possible and dealing appropriately through the ASB pathway, working with partner agencies and local businesses to address ASB and deal with any offences.
