Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Drugs, violence and anti-social behaviour - Montrose Street

    Issued 02 October 2026

    Action taken:

Concerns were raised by residents regards drugs, violence and anti-social behaviour in the Montrose Street area. Over the past year the team have identified several properties as being potentially been involved. The team were successful in obtaining a closure notice at Hull Magistrates Court meaning a property has been closed, occupants removed and the property is boarded up. This property was then taken back into the possession of the housing provider with their own legal processes. We also made numerous arrests in relation to drug supply with a large quantity of class A drugs and cash being seized and 4 people dealt with accordingly. We have most recently removed another tenant from a property, and action on another tenancy is occurring in the near future. A final property has received community protection warnings, a formal notice and the next step is court action. We will also be aiming to work with partners to secure removal of this tenant if possible.

Calls to police about the area have reduced significantly, bu we are still working away to make the area a better place to live.

  • Priority:

Safeguarding concerns around Holderness Road and Barnsley Street

    Issued 02 October 2026

    Action taken:

An address in the area has been identified after listening to the community and partners in respect to safeguarding concerns and action has been taken to signpost vulnerable people to the most adequate service and deal accordingly with any connected criminal offences. Work continues to go on in this regard with further action planned over the next few weeks.

  • Priority:

    Anti-social behaviour around Victoria Dock

    Issued 02 October 2026

    Action taken:

Reports have been received regards youths banging on peoples windows causing anti-social behaviour and a re-emergence of street drinkers congregating. We are stepping patrols and designated this a priority for the team. We will be working closely with Hull City Council over the coming weeks to be in the area more often to try and identify and deal with those causing nuisance in the area.
