    The new priorities for May to August are tackling anti-social behaviour in Bircherley Green and the anti-social use of e-bikes in Hartham.

    Action taken:

    Officers will step up visible patrols in Bircherley Green to reduce anti-social behaviour and will work to prevent and respond to the anti-social use of e-bikes in Hartham.

  • Priority:

    During the last period in the Hertford area, the following action was taken to help reduce speeding, and anti-social driving on the A414 into the town centre, as well as anti-social behaviour in hotspot locations.

    Action taken:

    • Patrols have been carried out, with a particular focus on weekends.
    • Officers have responded to reports of dangerous and reckless driving, including speeding, careless driving and unsafe use of mopeds and motorcycles.
    • Police attendance has resulted in vehicles being stopped, drivers challenged and offences progressed, particularly during evening and late-night hours.
    • An ongoing focus on enforcement, disruption of repeat behaviour and public reassurance.
    • Action has been taken on drug use and anti-social behaviour in hotspot locations.
    • Dedicated patrols carried out seven days a week during evenings, to address drug use and anti-social behaviour. The activity focused on Hartham Common, Fore Street, Mead Lane, Gascoyne Way, town centre car parks, retail areas and locations around Hertford East station.
    • High visibility foot and vehicle patrols used to deter offending and disrupt ongoing nuisance behaviour.
    • Police action included arrests, drug seizures, community resolutions, vehicle stops, dispersal of groups and intervention in incidents involving intoxication, begging and youth related disorder.
