About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Actioned 01 August 2026

  • Priority:

The new priorities for May to August are cracking down on anti-social behaviour in Buntingford town centre and to tackle fly-tipping across the area of East Herts Rural.

    Issued 01 May 2026

    Action taken:

Neighbourhood officers will step up visible patrols in Buntingford town centre to deter anti-social behaviour and will take a coordinated approach with partners to prevent and respond to fly-tipping across East Herts Rural.

    Actioned 01 May 2026

  • Priority:

Residents previously asked us to focus on reducing anti-social behaviour in Buntingford, and to tackle hare coursing and poaching in rural areas.

    Issued 01 May 2026

    Action taken:

    • Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team have been conducting patrols which that focus on anti-social behaviour in Buntingford including all the parks.
    • Officers have held a meeting with partner agencies to see what more can be done to tackle anti-social behaviour.
    • We are continuing to carry out these patrols in the future.

    • The Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to conduct operations and high visibility patrols to deter and catch hare coursers and poachers, as well as anti-social use of vehicles. This has resulted in a reduction in reports.
    • Residents and workers were offered advice and the opportunity to discuss any concerns with officers at a Barn Meet.
    • Three men have been charged in connection with a suspected hare coursing incident in Hunsdon.
