About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    To ensure Retail Crime within the area is taken seriously and support is given to local businesses.
    Repeat Offenders will be prosecuted and issued with Criminal Behaviour Orders where appropriate.

    Action taken:

    The local policing team are increasing patrols, community engagement and pursuing persistent offenders with ABC contracts and Anti-Social Behaviour Injunctions. Op Ash is still ongoing in Stroud town centre, with specific hot spots being targeted with additional patrols.

    To reduce all forms of anti-social behaviour within the area including begging, aggressive behaviour, street drinking and criminal damage.

    Action taken:

    The local policing team are prioritising and targeting prolific offenders with criminal prosecutions, Criminal Behaviour Orders, Civil Injunctions through Op Solace, in conjunction with Stroud District Council. Stroud NPT now have a Youth engagement officer, who will be working with prolific youth offenders, to reduce anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.

    On 1/12/25 the Town officers arrested a female in breach of her civil injunction, an application to extend the order has been submitted.

    Tackling Rural Crime

    Issued 22 March 2026

    Action taken:

    Proactively targeting all aspects of Wildlife, Rural and Heritage crime, including Hare coursing and poaching of game and deer. Investigating plant, trailer and quad bike thefts in the rural communities and offering prevention through various schemes available to the rural community. Please get in touch to see if your plant machinery/farming equipment qualifies for a free tracker or heavily discounted VIN chip scheme.
