    Speeding continues to be a concern in South Hetton and Haswell with residents raising the issue at recent Community Meetings.

    16/05/26 - Officers will continue to visit affected locations as part of our routine patrols of the area.

    Mobile Safety Camera Enforcement attention during April, 2026.

    A182 Logan Terrace, South Hetton
    During the 1 visit to the site, I would advise that 45 drivers triggered the safety camera:
    0 drivers fell within our Process Level (Court action)
    5 drivers fell within our Conditional offer level (fine and points)
    40 drivers fell within our Speed Awareness Course level

    B1283 Durham Road, Haswell Plough
    During the 1 visit to the site, I would advise that 13 drivers triggered the safety camera:
    1 driver fell within our Process Level (Court action)
    0 drivers fell within our Conditional offer level (fine and points)
    12 drivers fell within our Speed Awareness Course level

  • Priority:

    On-going problems with off road motorbikes and anti social behaviour in the Windsor Drive area of South Hetton, resulting in nuisance behaviour and community concerns.

    Action taken:

    Regular patrols are being conducted in the affected area. Relevant intelligence is being gathered and submitted for further action. Neighbourhood Wardens have been informed and continue to support activity in the locality. The area has previously been target hardened to reduce opportunities for the anti-social behavior.
