Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

St Austell Neighbourhood Team are working proactively to tackle illicit drug use and drug dealing within our communities. Working in partnership we are going to be targeting addresses and locations that evidence suggest are linked to drug use/dealing. The harm that drugs cause to our communities is unacceptable, please help us to address this issue. If you have any information that may assist us please report it to us via our website or via Crime Stoppers.

Over the past few months a number of warrants have now been executed which have had positive results including arrests and these investigations are ongoing. Patrols have also been increased in areas where we have reports of drug use.

    Issued 10 September 2026

    Action taken:

We have made a number of arrests for persons suspected to be involved in the supply of illicit drugs in the St Austell area over the last few weeks. While the investigations are ongoing, for some of the people arrested they have been remanded into Prison and await a court date, for others they have been charged with offences or are currently under investigation.

We have plans for further searches of properties and are currently obtaining warrants from the courts. Please keep providing us with information about any suspected illicit drug use and drug dealing as using this information we can target our activities.

    Actioned 06 October 2026

  • Priority:

The St Austell Neighbourhood Policing Team are committed to working with partner agencies and the community to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB).

ASB is conduct that causes (or is likely to cause) harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household of the offender.

The local team with support from the Police Drone Team conducted a recent operation to target those illegally riding dirt bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters. A number of vehicles were seized and the riders/ drivers reported for road traffic offences such as driving without insurance or the appropriate license.

We are aware of the publics' concerns of ASB, drug misuse and drinking in and around St Austell town centre. A joint response to this is being delivered by police and partners to robustly deal with those involved.

Please if you do witness an ASB incident, report it to us at the time it's taking place, this will provide us with the best opportunity to identify the persons concerned and take appropriate action with our partner agencies.

    Issued 10 September 2026

    Action taken:

Over the past month we have responded to reports of ASB across the St Austell area. We have identified key persons who had been causing ASB and have taken positive action in the form of arrests and ASB warning being issued or education when appropriate. We also applied to the courts and were successful in obtaining a closure order on a property that was linked to ASB. This property is now closed the reports of ASB have reduced.

We continue to work with our partners such as Cornwall Council and Youth Support Services to name a few to prevent further reports of ASB. We have been advising on how to re-designing areas where ASB is more likely to take place. We are also working directly with persons who we have identified as likely to cause ASB to educate them and prevent them from causing these issues.

    Actioned 06 October 2026

  • Priority:

With our partners we are working to safeguard members of the community who are at risk of serious harm by exploitation. Exploitation can take many forms, it can relate to finances, relationships, housing or to being asked/forced to do things for a another that puts a person at great risk of harm.

If you suspect someone you know is being exploited please contact us, we can then work to safeguard them.

    Issued 10 September 2026

    Action taken:

Thank you to everyone who has contacted us to raise concerns. Using this information we have assisted in removing unwanted persons from a vulnerable adults homes. We have also worked closely with Social Services and have safeguarded a number of youths who were possibly being exploited. The work is ongoing, please keep contacting us with details of anyone who you are concerned for.
