About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Persistent and Severe Anti Social Behaviour
Reduce ASB and associated criminality. Provide visibility and reassurance to our communities, reduce ASB working with partners to create long term problem solving

    Issued 13 March 2026

    Action taken:

Tier one ‘Hotspot’ funding continues for Truro for the remainder of the financial year (March ‘26). This additional funding enhances our ability to proactively patrol the key areas within the city centre. We carry out these patrols with key partners; in particular ‘Asbo Steve’ and the BID funded ‘Rangers’.
This is a sector based priority, lead by our two NBMs assigned to the city centre-PCs Grimstead and Holman.
We continue to review ASB logs to ensure appropriate crime recording is taking place, but also identify crime patterns or repeat offenders.

    Actioned 13 March 2026

  • Priority:

    Visibility and accessibility
Build into our daily business a sustainable level of visibility within our communities and maintain our engagement opportunities.

    Issued 13 March 2026

    Action taken:

Our NH teams are locally based.
Led by PS Pearce the Neighbourhood Beat Managers and PCSOs are assigned specific ‘patches’ and are detailed on our website. As a result you have a dedicated, named individuals who will continue to understand localised issues and provide consistent problem solving for your areas.

Two officers, PC Hardwick and PC Robins will be joining Truro NHT over the next few months. This welcomed addition to the team should increase our ability to provide additional foot patrols in key areas supporting our priority to tackle ASB.

We continue to use the Engagement Van, most recently over the late night shopping events, and promote our drop in sessions via the ALERT system and on our website.

    Actioned 13 March 2026

  • Priority:

Respond to crime and vulnerabilities linked to drugs offending and networks

    Issued 13 March 2026

    Action taken:

We continue to target our patrols and safeguarding visits based on community and partner intelligence.
Identify and disrupt dangerous drugs networks, often linked to ASB and violent crime.
Continued encouragement of reporting of intelligence by our communities, to build a rich picture and support enforcement.

    Actioned 13 March 2026
