Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

The St Austell Neighbourhood Policing Team are committed to working with partner agencies and the community to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB).

ASB is conduct that causes (or is likely to cause) harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household of the offender.

Please if you do witness an ASB incident, report it to us at the time it's taking place, this will provide us with the best opportunity to identify the persons concerned and take appropriate action with our partner agencies.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

The St Austell Neighbourhood Policing Team along with the Neighbourhood Support Team (NST) have attended public events such as Mevagissey Feast week to provide a high visibility policing presence to reassure the public and deter ASB. The public can expect to see further police presence at other public events over the coming months.

The St Austell Neighbourhood Policing Team with support from the Police Drone Team conducted a recent operation to target those illegally riding dirt bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters. A number of vehicles were seized and the riders/ drivers reported for road traffic offences such as driving without insurance or the appropriate license.

The local Policing Team are aware of the publics' concerns of ASB, drug misuse and drinking in and around St Austell town centre. A joint response to this is being delivered by police and partners to robustly deal with those involved.

    Actioned 16 July 2026

  • Priority:

With our key partners we are working to safeguard members of the community who are at risk of serious harm by exploitation. Exploitation can take many forms, it can relate to finances, relationships, housing or to being asked/forced to do things for a another that puts a person at great risk of harm.

If you suspect someone you know is being exploited please contact us, we can then work to safeguard them.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

The St Austell Neighbourhood Policing team have executed a number of warrants and are working on obtaining further warrants. These warrants are an effective way of disrupting drug supply in the local area and in turn help to identify and safeguard vulnerable persons who are at risk of exploitation.

The local Policing team have regular partnership meetings to discuss those individuals most at risk and develop clear safeguarding plans and actions to protect the individuals involved.

    Actioned 16 July 2026

  • Priority:

St Austell Neighbourhood Team are working proactively to tackle illicit drug use and drug dealing within our communities. Working in partnership we are going to be targeting addresses and locations that evidence suggest are linked to drug use/dealing. The harm that drugs cause to our communities is unacceptable, please help us to address this issue. If you have any information that may assist us please report it to us via our website or via Crime Stoppers.

This has been an ongoing priority for us and we have already executed a number of warrant and taken positive action that has included remanding persons into custody.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

A number of warrants have now been executed which have had positive results including arrests and these investigations are ongoing.

The St Austell Neighbourhood Team are continuing to develop information from the community with a view to obtaining further warrants to keep up the pressure on those suspected to be involved in drug dealing.

Increased patrols with the support of the Neighbourhood Support Team (NST) are being conducted in the town centre to tackle the reports of ASB and drug misuse.
