About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    ANTI SOCIAL VEHICLE USE

We have received multiple reports regarding the antisocial use of vehicles and e-bikes on and around the patch. We aim to reduce these behaviours through education, engagement, and enforcement where necessary

    Issued 13 May 2026

    Action taken:

The Plymouth North Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to conduct regular patrols, both in uniform and plain clothes, targeting areas identified through community feedback and intelligence. Enforcement action is taken where appropriate. We are utilising data from multiple sources to identify and address prolific offenders, ensuring effective use of ASB legislation to reduce ongoing issues.

  • Priority:

    SPEEDING AND NOISY EXHAUSTS

    Issued 13 May 2026

    Action taken:

-We have teamed up with mobile safety camera team for increased and targeted speed enforcement
-Increase in mobile speed enforcement ( Hand held speed gun)
-We have completed road Safety talks with Local Primary school children and Nursery
-Traffic Op targeting Modified and Noisy exhausts and speeding vehicles
-Traffic Op- Working with Licensed Premises on patch targeting drink and drug drivers

    Actioned 13 May 2026

  • Priority:

    SCHOOL PARKING

Unfortunately, some parents and carers continue to park inconsiderately and dangerously, including on double yellow lines, zig-zags, and pavements. It is a common issue at lots of schools across the patch putting people at risk of harm

    Issued 13 May 2026

    Action taken:

Our local team has stepped up foot patrols around schools to help keep everyone safe. While we always aim to educate drivers first to prevent it happening, we have had to move vehicles and will issue penalty notices to frequent offenders. The safety of our children remains our top priority. Please help us keep the school environment safe for all. Abuse and excuses will not be tolerated. Thank you for your cooperation.

    Actioned 13 May 2026

  • Priority:

    RETAIL CRIME CROWNHILL

    Issued 13 May 2026

    Action taken:

Our local team has been actively addressing shoplifting concerns in Crownhill Village. We have set up high visibility meetings and patrols within the CO OP and surrounding shops. Through regular patrols, close collaboration with store staff, and targeted visits, we have made significant progress in reducing theft in these areas. The introduction of the PARC scheme (Plymouth Against Retail Crime) is helping us strengthen these efforts, and we hope it will continue to reduce the shoplifting trend in the area. We remain committed to working with the community and local businesses.

    Actioned 13 May 2026

  • Priority:

    KIDS VAPING

    Issued 13 May 2026

    Action taken:

Eggbuckland Neighbourhood team arranged a test purchasing op with the young Police cadets, targeting the local shops to ensure the correct challenge for ID procedures were being implemented. I am happy to say the under cover cadets failed at purchasing a vape and were asked for ID in every shop which is really positive.
