    The Crownhill Neighbourhood team continues to conduct regular patrols targeting areas identified through community feedback and intelligence.

    The local neighbourhood team are continuing to liaise with local businesses to monitor and offer crime prevention to deter shoplifting.

    Officers are working with local business, offering crime prevention advice and monitoring activity to help tackle shoplifting
    Neighbourhood teams remain committed to supporting retailers, carrying out high-visibility patrols and ongoing engagement to deter shoplifting

    ANTI SOCIAL BIKES (Ebikes with no lights and Balaclavas/face coverings hiding identity)

    Issued 06 July 2026

    Action taken:

    Increased target patrols at stated times. Especially in subways around Crownhill village
    targeting youths trying to hide their identity with balaclavas no lights. Sending P900 and CCTV footage to the neighbourhood support team to Identify when able. Encourage reporting through community messaging to develop intelligence for specific times and locations
    Update 10/07/26 There continues to be significant Police interest in relation to the concerns around the use of illegal Electric Motorbikes. This is ongoing and Devon and Cornwall are reviewing policy which will increase the positive outcomes for those involved in Road Crime and associated criminality. We encourage members of the public to report sightings and any other information about these bikes to Police on line or in person at any Police Station, which are always treated in confidence.
