About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    1. Tackling drug related activity around Ripley Town Centre
    2. Tackling off-road motorbikes on The Greenway, Ripley
    3. Tackling youths related ASB targeting local businesses

    Issued 01 April 2026

    Action taken:

    1. Increase patrols within the location, both uniformed and plain clothes patrols, build an intelligence picture. Complete stop/searches where grounds are met and execute warrants where appropriate.
    2. Increase patrols within the area, build intelligence to identify those involved. Positive action to be taken using our section 59 and section 165 powers. Work alongside our off-road bike team and our drone officers.
    3. Increase patrols within the area, engage with the young people involved in anti-social behaviour. Work alongside our youth engagement team to deliver inputs in schools, educating the young people around the impact anti-social behaviour has on victims and the community. Signpost young people to diversionary activities taking place in the area and issue anti-social behaviour letters to those found engaging in anti-social behaviour. Consideration to be given for other suitable disposals where necessary, such as Acceptable Behaviour Contracts, Immediate Justice.
