About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Action taken:

    1) Speeding along arterial routes into Ashbourne
    - Speed enforcement and education delivered by trained Safer Neighbourhood Officers to address local concerns and promote road safety.
    - Specialist Enforcement: Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Team to conduct targeted speed enforcement operations. Roads Policing Teams to provide enforcement and education on high-risk routes.
    - Community Engagement: Support and coordination with Community Speed Watch Groups to empower residents and raise awareness.
    Intelligence-Led Approach: Use data and community feedback to identify priority locations for enforcement and education.
    2) Concern regarding drugs supply in Ashbourne Town - High visibility patrols: Increase patrols in identified hotspot areas to deter drug-related activity and reassure residents. Targeted Enforcement: Work with specialist police units to identify and disrupt organised drug dealing. Use stop-and-search powers and intelligence-led operations to target offenders. Community Engagement: Encourage residents to report suspicious activity via Derbyshire Constabulary channels or Crimestoppers. Provide reassurance visits and crime prevention advice to affected areas. Partnership Working: Collaborate with housing associations, local councils, and support agencies to address underlying issues and safeguard vulnerable individuals. Intelligence-Led Approach: Gather and analyse intelligence from community reports, patrol observations, and partner agencies. Share updates with the community to maintain trust and transparency.
    3) ASB on Ashbourne Market Place - High visibility patrols -Regular patrols by Safer Neighbourhood Officers during peak times -evenings, weekends, to deter ASB and reassure the public. Targeted Enforcement - Use dispersal powers and issue warnings where appropriate. - Identify repeat offenders and consider proportionate measures such as Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABCs) or Community Protection Notices (CPNs). Community Engagement - Liaise with local businesses, residents, and market traders to gather intelligence and address concerns. Promote reporting via 101, online channels, and Crimestoppers. Partnership Working - Work with Derbyshire Dales District Council, CCTV to address root causes and improve safety measures. Intelligence-Led Approach - Monitor incident logs and hotspot data to direct patrols effectively. Share updates and outcomes with the community to maintain transparency and reassurance
