    Off Road Bikes - causing issues at Cleator Moor and Frizington
    Information from Calls for service and Local residents.

    Action taken:

    With the lighter nights and warmer weather we have seen an increase in calls for service for nuisance off road bikes, we are planning an operation in the coming weeks to address this issue and will be targeting problem areas and utilising the use of the drone to assist us in identifying offenders

    12.06.2026 - Officers were out throughout the afternoon, stopping a number of vehicles and engaging with drivers to ensure they were complying with road traffic laws. The operation focused on identifying issues which can put road users at risk, with offences dealt with including:
    • driving without insurance
    • vehicle defects
    • using vehicles in a dangerous or unroadworthy condition
    • drug and alcohol-related driving offences

    One driver was arrested for failing to provide documents and driving without insurance. Two drivers were arrested for positive drug driving. A further two drivers had negative breath tests.
    29/06/2026 -Motorbike seized in Cleator Moor Rider dealt with for traffic offence.

    -Worked closely with Montreal School in regards to making there school pick up time safer,
    -Conducted High Visibility patrols at school pick up
    -Conducted regular speed checks (no one over 30mph but road very busy)
    -Arranged with traffic management team for traffic counters to be placed Ennerdale Road

    -Provided High Viability patrols at peak times.
    -Worked with the local authority and secured funding from the PFCC Community Fund for the ASTRO turf to be open free of charge for the summer holidays.
