About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

  • Priority:

Using a combination of your feedback and our own data, we have set the below as the things your local neighbourhood policing teams across Huntingdon will prioritise over the next three months:

    - Knife crime
    - Vehicle ASB in Yaxley

    Issued 11 March 2026

    Action taken:

Knife Crime – we have continued with targeted activity and stop searches and taken more knives off the streets. We have also utilised our powers to seize weapons from private homes during warrants. we continue to engage with individuals who we suspect carry knives through the Op Guardian scheme and educate those who are at risk of, or involved in knife crime to prevent others becoming victims in the future

Vehicle ASB – Yaxley – we have continued high visibility patrols and pro-active activity over the recent months, working with other departments and partner agencies to identify offenders and prevent disruption to local communities. We have acted swiftly in relation to recent reports of car cruises and are identifying offenders in order to utilise our powers under S.59 to seize the vehicles of the more prolific offenders.
