About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Officers have included the location as part of their patrol routes. City and South Cambs Council have proposed introducing a public spaces protection order (PSPO) aimed at curbing anti-social behaviour using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras and existing CCTV to enforce the order. The Consultation period for this ended on 27 March 2026.
Since the last meeting we have had two reports of vehicle nuisance in the area and a dispersal order was put in place around Babraham Park & Ride on 5 April.

We continue to tackle the use of illegal eScooters and eBikes across the city, and the Cambridge City Neighbourhood Team have now seized approximately 300 of these since October 2025.

Combined days of action with other Neighbourhood Teams have seen us tackle vehicle related anti social behaviour on the busway both in and out of the City.
