About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

    The Greater Bedminster Neighbourhood Policing Team has identified an increase in anti-social behaviour in and around Victoria Park, particularly involving the use of e-scooters.

    We are working closely with partner agencies to address these concerns and ensure the park remains a safe, welcoming and enjoyable space for everyone. Through targeted patrols and proactive engagement, we will continue to identify those responsible and take appropriate action where offences are being committed. Our aim is to ensure Victoria Park remains a safe and accessible environment for all members of the community. If you witness anti-social behaviour or the illegal use of e-scooters, please report it to us. In an emergency, or if a crime is in progress, call 999. For non-emergency incidents, please report online via the Avon & Somerset Police website or call 101. Information from the public helps us build an accurate picture of the issues affecting the area and supports our ongoing work to address them.

    After a report made to Police of a dog walker assaulting a member of the public in Victoria Park in September 2025, a male was identified following a media appeal. He was arrested and has been charged with common assault. He will be appearing before Bristol Magistrates Court in October.

    Drug dealing and anti-social behaviour in public spaces are current concerns within the local area. The local Neighbourhood Beat Team is actively addressing these issues through both overt and covert policing methods, with a focus on identifying and disrupting those involved in the supply and use of illegal drugs. If you witness any suspicious activity, please report it to us as soon as possible.

    We’ve received a number of reports and intelligence relating to the sale of vapes to underage children within the local area. The sale of vaping products (including e-cigarettes and e-liquids) to anyone under the age of 18 is illegal, and businesses found to be doing so may face enforcement action.

    We are working closely with Trading Standards to identify retailers who may be breaching the law, and appropriate action will be taken where offences are identified. We would like to remind parents and carers to be aware of the potential risks associated with vaping, particularly for young people, and to speak with their children about the dangers and legal implications. If you have any information about shops selling vapes to underage children, or any concerns about this issue, please report it to us via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In an emergency, always call 999. Your information helps us keep our community safe.
