About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

  • Priority:

Parcel theft is on the rise in shared entryways and communal spaces. Don’t let thieves steal your deliveries!

✅ Arrange secure delivery– Use parcel lockers or request signature on delivery. ✅ Collect promptly– Track your parcels and pick them up as soon as possible. ✅ Report suspicious activity– Call 101 or report online if you see anyone loitering near mail areas. ✅ Check CCTV– Make sure cameras in your building are working. If you’ve been a victim, report it to the police and your delivery company. Together, we can keep our community safe. Please report any information to your local police team

Avon and Somerset Police are inviting women to meet with female police officers and PCSOs to show them areas in which they feel vulnerable or unsafe in their local communities.

Walk and Talks are open to women aged 18 and above who wish to share their worries or concerns regarding their safety in the local area with officers.

    What to expect

    • You will be paired with a female police officer or PCSO
    • The walks will take place at a mutually convenient time for you
    • They will last around 30 minutes
    • They will be tailored to the areas you wish to address or discuss

This is an opportunity to raise any worries or concerns over your safety in your local area so the police, along with partner agencies, can see what they can do to improve women’s safety on our streets.

You can register for a visit by filling out our Walk and Talk form.

Once we have received the form, a member of your local Neighbourhood Policing Team will contact you to arrange a convenient time.

Currently, this initiative is taking place in most parts of Avon and Somerset. However, we hope to roll it out to all areas of our force in the near future.

If you are interested in having Walk and Talks in your area and it is not listed above, email [email protected] to register your interest.
