About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

  • Priority:

The neighbourhood team are always keen to get involved with events and get to know the local community.

Let us know where you want to see us!  We’re always looking for new and innovative ways to get to know our community, so if you have an event or group that you’d like us to attend, an issue that you need police help with, or just somewhere that you’d like to see us patrolling more often then get in touch and let us know.

We run 'Meet us' events once a month so look out for updates about these online.

  • Priority:

Anti-Social Behaviour can be distressing to victims who can sometimes feel harassed and unsafe within their communities. The neighbourhood team are working collaboratively with businesses, partner agencies and the community to reduce the issues and improve the living and working conditions for those within the community.

This work is ongoing and we continue to encourage and assist young people to engage in activities that will reduce their involvement in anti social behaviour, broaden opportunities and improve their quality of life.

Please continue to report issues to police via the 101 or online services and in the event of an emergency 999.

  • Priority:

Reports of nuisance Motorbikes, Mopeds and Quadbikes being ridden around in an anti-social  manner in the areas of Stillingfleet Road, Mellent Avenue, Bowring Close and green open spaces in and around Hartcliffe.

The Police continue to target these areas on patrol and issuing section 59 warnings and seizing Motorbikes where necessary.

We currently have a Force wide operation #OPHEMLOCK to assist in tackling these issues.

Bristol South also has its own operation #OPBROAD which similar to Hemlock is dedicated to tackling stolen and nuisance bikes.

If anyone has information regarding the riders including video footage available of any incidents then please contact your local Policing Team so action can be taken.

Please contact Tel: 101 / additionally you can report through our Avon and Somerset Police website pages.

  • Priority:

In recent months police have seen a sharp increase in shop thefts throughout Hartcliffe, Withywood and Bishopsworth.

This affects not only business owners and shop staff but the community who may experience an increase in the prices of products to make up for the loss of store profits.

Neighbourhood policing teams are now focussing attention on the areas most affected and being proactive in dealing with these offences.

We welcome any information about where stolen items are being sold and are keen to identify offenders and anyone who is promoting this type of crime.

Please report using our 101 or online services.
