About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Rural Crime (farms / hare coursing / non-dwelling burglaries)

    Issued 10 June 2026

    Action taken:

Rural crime is a significant concern across the Tisbury area, including offences affecting farms, hare coursing, and non-dwelling burglaries such as theft from outbuildings and rural businesses. We are increasing patrols, acting on intelligence, and working closely with rural communities and partner agencies to disrupt offenders and protect vulnerable rural locations.

    Actioned 10 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Retail Crime

    Issued 10 June 2026

    Action taken:

We’re supporting retailers in Tisbury to tackle theft and related anti-social behaviour. This includes regular patrols, advising on prevention measures, and ensuring crimes are reported so patterns and repeat offenders can be identified.

Business owners and staff are encouraged to report incidents and submit any available CCTV or evidence.

    Actioned 10 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Road Safety

    Issued 10 June 2026

    Action taken:

Road safety remains a priority across our rural road network, where speed, visibility and driver behaviour can increase risk.

We will continue targeted patrols and speed enforcement in areas of concern and work with partners to improve safety. Everyone has a role to play, taking care on rural roads helps protect drivers, cyclists, walkers and residents.

    Actioned 10 June 2026
