Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Upper Valley Ward Areas : Hebden Bridge, Sowerby Bridge, Todmorden, Mytholmroyd and Ryburn.

    1. Anti-Social Behaviour (Youth & Vehicle related) Focus Sowerby & Ryburn wards

We will do this through a partnership approach to increase awareness of anti-social behaviour reporting methods, identify repeat victims and perpetrators of anti-social behaviour, and educate young people of the impact of ASB. We will adopt a problem-solving approach to locations/victims and perpetrators of ASB to prevent escalation and repeat. We will increase patrol in the area at key times and take robust action against those committing vehicle related ASB, including partnership work with Calderdale Council for Public Space Protection Order enforcement.

    2. Road Safety – Focus on Burnley Road (throughout the upper valley)

We will do this through partnership enforcement and education of safe driving and parking practices. We will conducted targeted Road Safety work deployments, working with partners to inform & educate communities and enforce road safety legislation. This will include SID and Pro-Laser deployments, and proactive work to identify and prosecute unsafe use of the road network.

    3. Water Safety and Moorland Public Space Protection Order education and enforcement (WYFRS & CMBC Lead) - We will work in partnership to educate people on Water Safety. This will be done through engagement with schools and days of action at local reservoirs. We will also educate people and take enforcement action in relation to the Moorland PSPO to reduce the risk of ASB and fire.
