About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Residential burglary

    Issued 22 June 2026

    Action taken:

Residential burglary remains a top priority for our force, especially in Birmingham. Despite a significant 26% reduction in residential burglaries across the West Midlands, we understand the profound impact this crime has on individuals and communities.

To address this, we are working closely with our response and neighbourhood crime departments to ensure that every reported burglary is attended to promptly. We are committed to exploiting every opportunity to identify and prosecute offenders, ensuring justice for victims and enhancing community safety.

We have dealt with a number of car key burglaries recently and are encouraging residents to stay vigilant in preventing crime.

We are also aware of an increase in motorbike thefts. Again this remains an area of focus as we look to actively target suspects.

    Actioned 22 June 2026

  • Priority:

Antisocial behaviour and off road bikes

    Issued 22 June 2026

    Action taken:

We are working to tackle the use of off road bikes and the associated crime. This remains a priority and we continue to execute warrants at suspected offenders addresses and seize bikes suspected stolen and used in crime.
We are also aware of ASB in relation to drug use, street drinking and prostitution. This is something we are working to reduce and also remains a priority.

    Actioned 22 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Drug dealing

    Issued 22 June 2026

    Action taken:

Drug dealing in the community appears to have increased and we are committed to tackling this by increasing patrols at known drug dealing hot spots. We will also seek to execute warrants at addresses which we believe are involved in drug supply.

We are also seeking to execute warrants at addresses suspected to be involved in the production and supply of illicit substances.

    Actioned 22 June 2026
