About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Force Priority – Op Plazari

We are committed to tackling violence and the exploitation of vulnerable women on the streets of the Soho Area.

We know that the Soho Road and surrounding areas are hotspots for prostitution. Our neighbourhood policing teams are intensifying our enforcement of this activity. We are working with multiple partners internally and externally to identify and safeguard vulnerable people.

We will also operate a zero tolerance approach to those exploiting and utilising illegal services around the Soho area.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

The Soho Road NHT have been working with partners to intervene with illegal prostitution and we have been identifying vulnerable individuals with a view to referring them into safeguarding plans.

    Actioned 05 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Local Priority - Lidl Thefts

Lidl on Soho Road is a hotspot for shoplifting offences on the Soho ward. We are aware of this problem and are working with partners to address the issue.

We know that many of these offences are generated by the same individuals and those from surrounding areas. We are actively recording theft offences and we will be prosecuting anyone who we identify as being involved in this offending pattern.

Thefts from stores and businesses in our area have a detrimental impact on the local economy and the quality of living for local residents and visitors. The Soho NHT are committed to tackling this issue with direct enforcement.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

The Soho Road NHT are conducting several crime prevention surgeries and proactive patrols to tackle the issue of thefts from Lidl.

    Actioned 07 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Community Priority - Waverhill Park

We have listened to the issues being raised to us by the community. We are aware of the criminality taking place at Waverhill park, namely illegal drug use and ASB, including consumption of alcohol.

The Soho NHT are working with multiple partners to enforce both civil and law legislation in these areas. We are proactively patrolling Waverhill park in conjunction with those partners, and we will look to prosecute repeat offenders and those who are disregarding the safety of our communities.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

We have been conducting patrols in this area and working with partners to enforce civil orders and criminal prosecutions for offenders.

    Actioned 06 July 2026
