About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Anti-social behaviour and shop theft around supermarkets in the Longbridge shopping area.

    Issued 12 June 2025

    Action taken:

Addressing these issues and supporting local businesses is a priority for us. We are working closely with local shops via a shop watch scheme to support their security measures including offering crime prevention advice during our increased patrols and adopting a pop up crime prevention stall as often as possible. We are also working towards issuing Community Protection Warnings (CPW) as a preventative measure for those causing asb and also arresting those that commit thefts from stores.

    Actioned 12 June 2025

  • Priority:

Reports of off road vehicles being driven erratically in open spaces across the ward including the Cockhill Lane estate and Cofton Park ares

    Issued 12 June 2025

    Action taken:

We're planning a coordinated approach with our West Mercia colleagues who're also affected by this issue on the Rubery policing boarder. We're planning to utilise the West Midlands Police road crime team to assist with targeted patrols across prone areas at key times. This tactic has born fruit this week with two key arrests of individuals who routinely partake in illegal and dangerous riding of vehicles in these public spaces. Positive action is being taken in all cases and we urge the community to report these matters with useful registrations or descriptions of offenders. This will further inform our follow up work with targeting individuals at their addresses, and taking positive action / seizing vehicles where appropriate.

    Actioned 12 June 2025

  • Priority:

Feedback from families, schools, and community partners indicates that USG members are still present and influencing young people in the area. This feedback has been consistent over time, highlighting the persistent nature of the issue.

    Issued 12 June 2025

    Action taken:

The local team are working with Community Safety, Schools Housing depts, Youth Organisation Involvement to ensure increased community engagement and support Intelligence gathering, to better safeguard those that are vulnerable and take positive action where appropriate.

    Actioned 12 June 2025
