  • Priority:

Business’s and shoppers have told us that they are concerned about the level of anti-social behaviour, mainly from young people in the Merry Hill centre and Wordsley.

    Issued 10 May 2025

    Action taken:

To address concerns of anti-social behaviour from young in the Merry Hill Centre and Wordsley, we are conducting targeted patrols in the identified areas. We are also working closely with local businesses to gather information and support, and issuing Antisocial Behaviour Contracts to the youths involved. We have also recently carried out operations Advance and Servator in the area to support our efforts. You can find out more about these operations by searching on this website.

  • Priority:

Local business’s in the Merry Hill Centre have told us that they are concerned with the level of shop theft.

    Issued 10 May 2025

    Action taken:

To tackle retail crime, we are focusing on identifying prolific offenders and where appropriate progressing investigations as a long-term solution. We are also working with businesses and our partners to provide crime prevention advice to shops. One of our new initiatives is to deliver the Auror Crime Intelligence Platform input to our partners to help us work together to reduce offences.

  • Priority:

Members of the public are reporting concerns of speeding vehicles around the Wordsley area

    Issued 10 May 2025

    Action taken:

In response to public concerns about speeding in the Wordsley area, PCSOs have conducted a Community Speedwatch operation in the affected areas. Community Speedwatch is a national initiative where members of local communities, with the support and supervision of their local police, record details of speeding vehicles using approved detection devices. Registered keepers of vehicles breaking the speed limit are contacted by letter explaining the potential risks and consequences of their dangerous behaviour. If you are interested in running a Community Speedwatch in your area please get in touch.
