About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    We are currently engaged in tackling the criminality seen at shops in the Cotteridge locations. We are working with other departments, utilising disruption efforts and enforcing legislation. We are looking to hold those responsible for owning, managing or utilising these stores who are intent on crime.

    We have worked with trading standards in relation to a shop on Pershore Road. They are the lead agency and we will update in the month with positive results.

    Local Priority - Anti social behaviour and drug use in Stirchley linked to a property on Ivy Road.

    Action taken:

    We are currently liaising with the housing team and other partner agencies to provide support for the occupier. We will be present in the location to gain further vehicle details of people involved and will update in the month with actions.

    Community Priority - Graffiti in Cotteridge Park consisting of racist, homophobic, anti-semetic remarks and images amongst others.

    Action taken:

    This was brought to our attention on 02/10. We attended and took pictures of all the Graffiti and liaised with the Birmingham City Council clean up team. They have done a fantastic job of removing the graffiti. We have liaised with the Friends Of Cotteridge Park and are in the process of reviewing the writing against other imagery on police systems. Patrols will continue in the area.
