Local Priority - Football vehicle crime

The Aston Neighbourhood Policing Team (NHT) is making vehicle crime taking place at and during football fixtures a top priority.
We understand that these types of crimes can cause considerable disruption and distress to victims, and we are committed to addressing this issue to ensure the safety and security of the community.

Our team is dedicating patrols in areas where these incidents have been most prevalent, employing intelligence-led policing to identify patterns of offending. We are also working closely with other departments within West Midlands Police and community partners to gather intelligence and target offenders involved in vehicle-related crime.

We strongly encourage residents to take steps to protect their vehicles, such as ensuring cars are securely locked, removing valuables from sight, and parking in well-lit or secure areas where possible.

The Aston NHT is working in partnership with Aston Villa Football Club to address this issue, and it will continue to remain a priority heading into the 26/27 football season.
