About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

    Issue: Road Safety

    You said: This is a priority for the next 3 months, based on resident feedback, crime data, and ongoing concerns.

    Action taken:

    We will:

    - Conduct speed monitoring and enforcement at locations identified as areas of concern.
    - Deal with anti-social driving, providing education to motorists and enforcement when appropriate.
    - Attend schools at drop off and pick up times to promote safe areas for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

    We did:
    -Respond to reported areas of highlighted concern with a particular focus on these areas.
    -Conduct a road safety operation across our Policing area to engage, educate and enforce road users where appropriate. Results to include vehicle seizures, a number of motorists reported for the consideration of prosecution for driving offences and advice given to increase road safety.
    -Conduct a survey of a reported problem area, feedback the results of this survey to partners to include the local authority, traffic management department and local education department with the aim of improving the safety for road users in this particular location.

    - Diligently deal with reported incidents and seek to bring offenders to justice.
    - Review local crime data to understand whether this is an emerging crime threat or perception.
    - Provide crime prevention advice regularly through community messaging.
    - Conduct patrols in areas identified as having heightened concerns.

    We did:
    -Respond to reported incidents, attend and speak to victims to investigate and seek evidence.
    -Review reported data to establish if a crime trend was emerging.
    -Provide crime prevention advice to victims. Issue a press release to reach a wider audience with regard to a potential emerging trend of burglaries involving high value bicycles.
    -Conduct high visibility patrols across our Policing area.

    We will
    - Deal robustly with people committing anti-social behaviour, making use of available legislation to divert offenders and prevent harm.
    - Ensure high visibility patrols are conducted in areas of concerns at relevant times.
    - Conduct further neighbourhood priority surveys to identify areas of focus.

    We Did
    - Deal swiftly and robustly to reports of Anti Social Behaviour.
    - Investigate and gather evidence into reports of ongoing Anti Social Behaviour incidents. Work with partners using available legislation to resolve incidents in the most efficient manner.
    -Carry out high visibility patrols across our Policing area.
