About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Priority 1: Anti-Social Behaviour (General)

    You said: This is a priority for the next 3 months, based on resident feedback, crime data, and ongoing concerns relating to general anti-social behaviour affecting the community.

    Action taken:

    We will:

    - Conduct high-visibility patrols in identified key locations
    - Engage with individuals involved in anti-social behaviour and use appropriate powers to address offending
    - Work with partner agencies to provide early intervention and diversion opportunities
    - Issue Community Protection Warnings/Notices where appropriate
    - Engage with residents through community meetings, surveys, and local engagement activity to better understand concerns

    WE DID:
    -Developed a comprehensive Problem-Solving Plan, designed to deliver a coordinated and sustainable approach to the ASB issues affecting the Sutton Hill Community.
    -Issued a further four Anti-Social Behaviour Warning Letters to individuals designed to disrupt and reduce offending behaviour.
    -Re-instated the hotspot patrol in the Sutton Hill Centre between the hours of 1-11pm.
    -Attended two multi-agency meetings with key stakeholders and partner agencies to help identify the root cause of the problems and develop targeted interventions.
    -Engaged with the public by attending the monthly residents meeting and conducting two mobile police surgeries and two sit-in police surgeries.
    -Conducted a Community and Partners Police Surgery in Ironbridge with the Parish Council to address community concerns.
    -Undertaken targeted patrols of areas identified as high demand for anti-social behaviour throughout the Summer in Ironbridge. Mainly the riverbank, Dale End and Ironbridge Rowing Club.

    We will:

    - Conduct targeted patrols in areas identified through intelligence as key for drug-related activity
    - Gather and develop intelligence to identify individuals involved in drug supply
    - Execute warrants and take enforcement action where appropriate
    - Use stop search powers where grounds exist to disrupt criminal activity
    - Work with partner agencies to safeguard vulnerable individuals affected by drug-related harm
    - Encourage community reporting to support ongoing investigations

    Priority 3: Road Safety Issues

    You said: This is a priority for the next 3 months, based on resident feedback, crime data, and ongoing concerns relating to speeding, dangerous driving, and road safety within the community.

    We will:

    - Conduct targeted speed enforcement and high-visibility patrols in identified areas of concern
    - Deploy speed detection equipment and carry out enforcement where offences are identified
    - Work with partner agencies to support road safety initiatives and awareness campaigns
    - Engage with the community to identify specific locations and ongoing concerns
    - Take positive action against offenders committing road traffic offences

    WE DID:

    -Expanded our group of Community Speed Watch volunteers in Ironbridge to help recognise and deal with excessive and inappropriate speeds of vehicles on our roads. The local policing team attended the training session to meet with the new members to ensure a collaborative approach moving forward.
    -Continued to listen to residents and feedback information into Operation Chicane, a dedicated operation to target dangerous drivers linked to car meets in Telford.
