About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Drug activity and issues with E-Bikes and E-Scooters that are being used on the Recreation Ground, Recreation Road Burghfield Common.

    Issued 01 May 2026

    Action taken:

This priority will continue into our new set of priorities as it’s a concern raised by the community. A male was stopped and searched on Recreation Road however nothing of concern was located on him.
The team has now seized 18 E-Scooters across the Policing area for the neighbourhood.

    Actioned 01 June 2026

  • Priority:

Retail crime Co-Op Victoria Road Mortimer. Repeated incidents of shoplifting from the Co-Op Mortimer.

    Issued 01 May 2026

    Action taken:

Update: A male was arrested and charged on 26/04/2026 for 15 thefts from the CO-OP Mortimer and 1 Public Order Offence against staff at the same location.
He is due in court in June 2026 for sentencing.
We will continue to support our local businesses.

    Actioned 01 June 2026

  • Priority:

Anti-Social behaviour in Bunces Lane, Burghfield Common, and surrounding areas. There have been reports of people firing catapults at properties in the area, causing damage.

    Issued 01 May 2026

    Action taken:

Again this month we have seen a reduction in report of catapults in this area however it would seem that the issue has moved to the Mortimer area.
This issue will remain our priority over the coming month.

    Actioned 01 June 2026
