About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

E-Bikes in Oxford City Centre, and regular bikes, specifically Cornmarket Street and Queen Street are still being reported as riding too fast and causing a danger to members of the public, as well as disobeying local signage

    Issued 07 June 2026

    Action taken:

On 7th June 2026 2026, following on from operations in May 2026, our colleagues from the East Oxford Team and Roads Policing seized over 20 E-Bikes found to be non compliant with the law. This focus will remain and I look forward to advertising our own results in due course

    Actioned 07 June 2026

  • Priority:

There is an issue of Street drinking, noise nuisance and general anti-social behaviour at BONN SQUARE, OXFORD. We have seen reduction in the past few weeks but as the weather is improving we are seeing a continuation of local issues

    Issued 07 June 2026

    Action taken:

This issue has persisted over the last month and we have continued to see, a huge decline in localised alcohol related anti-social behaviour at the location. We have now issued over 10 Community Protection Notices (CPNS) after those we served Community Protection warnings to continued in their behaviours. The CPNs now carry risk of arrest and prosecution and as a result the behaviours have markedly declined. We have also served Community Protection warnings to prolific noise nuisance offenders, and this appears to have reduced issues. We anticipate, given improving weather and longer days, that this issue may recur and we will monitor, taking necessary action for the rest of this month.

    Actioned 07 June 2026

  • Priority:

We have received reports from local residents regards concerns of drug related activity in the area of Hinksey Park and around Whitehouse Road and the adjacent River Banks.

    Issued 09 June 2026

    Action taken:

We will patrol the areas concerned and seek to identify persons involved and take enforcement action accordingly. To date we have undertaken a few enforcement actions and caught 2 people of concern. They have been dealt with as applicable under the law. We will focus on the issue in coming weeks and continue to ensure that the area is safe for all

    Actioned 09 June 2026
