    Anti-social behaviour continues to be highlighted as a community priority in the Chalfonts. One of the largest issues of anti-social behaviour the team deal with on a regular basis is the pony and trap racing on the A413 and A40.

    Action taken:

    The team are continuing their hard work around youth-related anti-social behaviour in shops in Chalfont St Peter. A number of those involved have now been spoken to in the presence of parents. Several banning letters have been served and in cases of criminal offences, out of court resolutions have been issued. We have also stepped up both uniformed and plain-clothed patrols in the village centre with a view to target this behaviour.
    Pony & trap racing continues to be an issue of concern in Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross. After considerable work with our partners at Buckinghamshire Council, a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) is now in place on the relevant sections of the A413 and A40. This order prohibits the behaviour in question and provides the police with additional enforcement capabilities. In August, numerous individuals have been issued with Fixed Penalty notices for breach of the public space protection order due to taking part in pony and trap racing while others have been reported for traffic offences. The joint working to both reduce and manage pony and trap racing remains an ongoing priority for the area and the Buckinghamshire local command unit.

    The residents of the Chalfonts have identified speeding to be one of the top priorities they would like their local neighbourhood team to focus on. In our recent neighbourhood priorities survey, residents have highlighted concerns regarding various different roads including the A413.

    Action taken:

    At the request of local residents, neighbourhood officers have completed speed checks in Chalfont St Giles in mid August.
    Narcot Lane: 4 drivers stopped and reported for exceeding the 30mph limit. The highest speed recorded was 50mph.
    Bottrells Lane - all vehicles checked that day were with the 30mph.

    The team will use the data gathered in the speed checks and public feedback to plan days of speed enforcement in the coming months.

    Burglary continues to be voted for as a priority by the residents of the Chalfonts. As the colder months approach, tackling and preventing burglary routinely becomes a priority for all areas across Buckinghamshire.

    Action taken:

    We continue to work hard to combat burglary through targeted patrols of the most affected areas and of the borders with neighbouring areas and forces.
    In July we participated in a multi-force operation targeting criminal use of the road network. This operation saw intensive proactive policing with partners across the Chalfonts, Gerrards Cross, Denham and Iver. Across all of the forces involved over 60 people were arrested and over 40 vehicles were seized.
    We also participated in a local rural crime initiative alongside the Metropolitan Police Service. This operation also saw intensive activity in the same area and resulted in an arrest, multiple vehicle seizures, multiple drivers being reported for traffic offences and some really positive engagement with our rural community. Investigations were also launched into two drivers who failed to stop for officers.
