The Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to make burglary offences one of their top priorities, especially during the winter period as burglaries are expected to increase. They have increased their directed patrols in identified high risk areas, creating a high police visibility to both deter thieves and provide reassurance to the residents. The team has been working with local neighbourhood watch groups to provide residents with Crime Prevention Advice on keeping their homes, sheds and garages safe from burglars.
The neighbourhood policing team will continue to prioritise burglary, as it is one of the top concerns of people in the community. So far their efforts have seen a slight reduction in burglaries since last quarter.

Drugs (and associated Anti-Social Behaviour)
Issued 01 April 2023
Drugs continue to be a concern of the public. The Neighbourhood Policing Team have increased their high-visibility patrols in and around the hotspot areas identified for drug offences and usage. The team also uses intelligence from members of the public to identify offenders and uncover organised drug operations or grows. It is also important to the team that they continue to protect and safeguard any vulnerable people they are possibly being exploited by drug traffickers. Children are prominently targeted for exploitation in the drug trade, so over this next quarter, members of the neighbourhood team will be visiting schools to raise awareness about this.
