Policing priorities

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Antisocial behaviour was voted again as a priority by the residents of the Aylesbury West area in the latest community survey in May 2026. A continued area of concern is Alfred Rose park and the surrounding area and the team are working to reduce anti-social behaviour in those areas accordingly.

    Issued 03 June 2026

    Action taken:

The council have reported to the local Neighbourhood team that there has been an increase in ASB within Alfred Rose Park. The local primary school is dealing with anti-social behaviour on an almost daily basis including physical altercations.
The team will now be aiming to reduce ASB in the area month by month. Actions to include working with the local authorities and community groups. As well as increasing their foot patrols, marked vehicle patrols and involvement in local groups such as a youth club which operates in the area. . Attending regular Friday prayers at Aylesbury Mosque.
June update: An increase of 25% in reported ASB cases in May 2026. PC Collins obtained a partial closure order on an address in Elmhurst following ongoing ASB and drug concerns. In May a male had his moped seized due to ASB driving and was further arrested for drug offences.
This priority will be reviewed quarterly as per community survey results. All actions to be reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress being made.

  • Priority:

Drugs has been voted as a priority issue again by local residents of Aylesbury North following surveys that have been completed by members of the public at the end of May 2026.

There has been information to suggest that Class A drug dealing has been increasing in certain areas of Aylesbury North.

The Neighbourhood team are aiming to make Aylesbury North a hostile environment for drug dealing to take place.

They are actively engaging with the local community in order to gather as much information and intelligence as we can to identify drug hot spots and drug dealers.

    Issued 03 June 2026

    Action taken:

In recent months, the Aylesbury North team have obtained 3 partial closure orders all linked to drug use or supply. This prohibits those causing the issues from attending the addresses and highlights our commitment to disrupting the criminality within these addresses.
May Update: 3 recorded possession, 1 intent to supply, in April, slight increase on previous month.
June update: 1 recorded possession which is a decrease on the previous month. Further closure orders in Elmhurst were obtained to disrupt drug related activity.

  • Priority:

Speeding has been voted again this quarter as a priority issue on Aylesbury North following the latest community survey completed by the public end of May 2026.
Aylesbury North is a broad area so we will look at specific locations to start with based on feedback that we have received from the Berryfields, Buckingham Park and Watermead parish councils.

    Issued 03 June 2026

    Action taken:

The teams specific aim is to improve community safety by reducing speeding in targeted areas. This will be measured by comparing speeding reports/tickets issued each quarter compared to previous quarters when completing speed gun operations. This will be achieved by conducting at least one speed gun operation per month with the aim of reducing speeding and dealing with offences.
Hi-visibility car patrols will be conducted in the 4 areas that have been identified to be an issue for speeding. The neighbourhood team also routinely liaise with Parish Councils to ensure they are constantly monitoring which areas are affecting the residents. Speed surveys to continue as we move into June/July/August and results will be used to plan enforcement days. Results to be shared in future updates.
Update: 3 speed survey days completed, results to be analysed and used to plan enforcement days with Traffic Police. . We have also worked with the council to address dangerous parking issues at local schools.
May Update: In April we conducted a joint operation with roads policing and motor insurance bureau, a large number of vehicles were seized for no insurance and a large number of tickets were issued for driving offences. The surveys and operations will continue in the coming months.
June update: A male was arrested for ASB driving and had his moped seized.
This priority is reviewed quarterly as per community survey results and actions reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress.
