About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Anti-social behaviour (ASB), linked to drug misuse is a key priority for the area.

    Issued 17 July 2025

    Action taken:

We attended an open public meeting to understand community concerns. We are aware that the ASB and drug issues tend to increase over the summer months and, as such, we will be increasing our policing presence over the next three months in the town centre. Our work on this is ongoing.

    Actioned 26 June 2025

  • Priority:

The community have voiced concerns relating to traffic offences and speeding.

    Issued 28 August 2025

    Action taken:

Over the next three months, we will be reducing dangerous driving, speeding, and traffic-related offences that pose risks to pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users. We aim to improve road safety, protect vulnerable individuals, and promote responsible driving through enforcement, education, and collaboration.

  • Priority:

    Parking and Speeding

    Issued 30 July 2025

    Action taken:

Parking and speeding continue to be an issue for the villages. Police are working closely with Parish Councils and other enforcement bodies to help resolve issues with inconsiderate parking through engagement and education

    Actioned 30 July 2025

  • Priority:

Continued focus on speeding, nuisance parking and anti-social vehicle use

    Issued 28 February 2026

    Action taken:

During the three months ahead, the neighbourhood policing team will focus on tackling issues around speeding and inconsiderate parking, following clear concerns raised by the community. Our attention will be directed toward areas where unsafe driving and speeding are affecting safety and daily life. Officers will use visible patrols, targeted enforcement and community intelligence to identify those responsible and improve safety and confidence across the affected locations.
