About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Ongoing issue with cross-border drug supply and associated child exploitation.

    Issued 02 March 2026

    Action taken:

Intelligence has been used to obtain and execute a number of warrants at various addresses and has led to the arrest and charge of serious offenders as well as drugs and money being recovered. Specialist officers are working with partners including Social Care, Schools and Housing to protect families and children exposed and at risk of associated criminality. This is ongoing and we are working within the community to disrupt the supply of drugs and safeguard vulnerable juveniles exploited by Organised Crime Gangs.

    Actioned 26 September 2025

  • Priority:

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) and criminal damage, specifically in and around Clough Hall Park.

    Issued 02 March 2026

    Action taken:

ASB legislation such as Community Protection Warnings/Notices and Community Behaviour Orders will be used where repeat offenders are identified.

Ongoing patrol and activity around Kidsgrove and Clough Hall Park along with the setting up of a local youth club has lead to a reduction in ASB calls.

Police will continue to work with partners to carry on the work with the youth club.

Calls relating to ASB will be monitored and both proactive and reactive work undertaken. High Visibility patrols to continue and intelligence monitored and used to disrupt drug related activity and the associated ASB.

    Actioned 02 March 2025

  • Priority:

Shoplifting and Retail Crime identified through CCR's and scanning of crime/incident reporting.

    Issued 02 March 2026

    Action taken:

Where repeat locations are identified problem solving officers will work with stores and the Early Intervention and Prevention Unit to offer crime prevention advice. Locations are to be included in patrol strategy. Calls will be monitored on a daily basis with a view to identifying and prosecuting offenders. Bail conditions, CPN/W and Criminal Behaviour Orders will be used where repeat offenders are identified.

    Actioned 02 June 2026
