About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Off-road motorbikes.

    Issued 05 December 2025

    Action taken:

We are working with the Local Authority to identify riders of these illegal bikes and use our Road Policing Team to carry out days of action where appropriate. As with other areas where off-road bikes are a priority, any riders known to live in Local Authority accommodation will result in potential tenancy action being taken.

    Actioned 05 March 2026

  • Priority:

    Off Road Bikes

    Issued 05 December 2025

    Action taken:

We are aware of the on going concerns raised by residents and members of the community about the use of off road bikes. As a result, our road crime team will continue to spend time in the areas. We have arranged targets operations using a variety of resources including our road crime team, Staffs off road bikes, drones and the fixed wing plane. This has been on going through the summer. This has also involved local officers engaging with petrol stations schools and joint visits with local housing officers to address problem properties. Operation Transom and Operation Reclaim is our response to nuisance off-road bikes. In conjunction with the Local Authority, we are trying to identify riders of the bikes, both through police reported incidents and information received by the Local Authority. Where the evidence allows, we are carrying out seizures of bikes and prosecuting riders. There have been occasions where riders have been identified as residing in Local Authority housing and tenancy breach action has been taken.

  • Priority:

    Flytipping & Littering

    Issued 09 March 2026

    Action taken:

Local residents have raised the concern of littering and fly tipping in the area, this is encouraging the area to look untidy and attract crime. We are working hard with the local council to prevent this from happening, cleaning up any locations that are litter hotspots and moving forward, educating the young on the dangers and consequences of littering and fly tipping. The local council are identifying and fining persons who are involved in fly tipping.

    Actioned 09 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Anti-social behaviour including youth

    Issued 09 March 2026

    Action taken:

Local residents have reported and increase in teenagers and young people congregating in groups and seeming intimidating. Some are also causing anti-social behaviour to local residents and local shops. We remind all parents and guardians to please ensure you know where your children are and what they are doing and remind them that their behvaiour may upset and alarm local residents if they are acting anti-socially. We are working hard with PCSO’s, local schools, Social services and the council to ensure that all reports of ASB including young people are taken seriously and we look to educate them going forward. Repeat offenders will have action taken against them.

  • Priority:

    Traffic Offences- Off Road Bikes

    Issued 09 March 2026

    Action taken:

We are aware of the on-going concerns raised by residents and members of the community about the use of off road bikes. As a result, our road crime team will continue to spend time in the areas. We have arranged targets operations using a variety of resources including our road crime team, Staffs off road bikes, drones and the fixed wing plane. This has been on going and will continue to be used during the Spring and Summer months. This has also involved local officers engaging with petrol stations, schools and completing joint visits with local housing officers to problem properties. We ask all members of public to report anything they deem suspicious to the police using 101, the Staffordshire police website or Crimestoppers.
