About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Anti-social riding and use of off road bikes in Kendray and Worsbrough.

    Action taken:

    We are currently tackling this issue by using a Problem Oriented Policing Plan. We have completed various actions

    1) Seizing vehicles where necessary.

    2) Using high definition cameras to obtain identities of those using off road vehicles.

    3) Using our powers under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act to issue notices to those using vehicles in an anti-social manner.

    4) Utilising support from our partners such as the BMBC off road bike team and Berneslai Homes to take tenancy action for those keeping off road vehicles and acting in an anti-social manner.

    Joint working continuing with SYP Motorcycle and Rural Crime Team and BMBC to target those riding in an anti-social manner. 3 stolen bikes were found and seized and 3 off road bikes were seized for no insurance recently.

    This activity will continue throughout the next few months to keep our roads and public places safe for all to use.

    Issues with school parking, particularly primary schools but also some secondary schools. Parking on yellow zig zags.

    Targeted patrols at school start and finish times.
    Education with drivers
    Enforcement actions for those parking on yellow zig zags on in an inconsiderate manner or blocking pavements and dropped kerbs.
    Advised in PACT that schools can request BMBC parking enforcement visit their schools.

    Ongoing issue with drug use and drug dealing around areas of Kingstone.

    Action taken:

    Daily patrols by PC's and PCSO's to continue.
    Day of action with partners to work on disrupting ongoing activity.
    Enforcement action to take place utilising police powers.
