About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

    Through consultation with the public and Partners it has been decided that the Policing priority for July 2026 to September 2026 for the wards Basford and Leen Valley will be Anti Social Behaviour . The Police will provide proactive patrols around all the areas where we identify ASB and deal with those who we identify as perpetrators effectively. We will specifically focus on open spaces such as parks and recreation ground in the warmer period.

    June 2026 update
    Officers have conducted plain clothes patrols and uniform patrols in the open spaces around Basford and Leen Valley in response to reports of ASB. Vernon Park has been specifically targeted by officers to make the space safe and welcoming for everyone.
