About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Anti-social Behaviour (ASB)

    Issued 16 March 2026

    Action taken:

NPT teams and ALO partnership hub continue to tackle ASB in the area. We target key locations with patrols supported by partners to prevent and deter young people engaging in ASB.

Using Civil enforcement where ever possible prevents escalation in offending behaviour. We work with Early Help and TFC to refer these young people to education and youth club services.

School inputs continue and home visits to parents to inform and educate.

When funding allows the highly successful disorder bus also targets key locations, highlight from both seasonal and emerging trends.

Partners such as TWFB also offer divergence opportunities to you people such as The Phoenix Project.

Shoplifting/Theft and ASB at Retail Premises

    Issued 16 March 2026

    Action taken:

Targeting known offenders and repeat victims. The lists are refreshed on a regular basis so we tackle the right people. Repeat locations offered crime prevention advice. Local neighbourhood officers take responsibility for targeting repeat offenders and repeat victims adopting a problem-solving approach to the issue. A Shopwatch scheme has been set up in Newbottle providing retailers with information sharing on perpetrators and a direct radio link to neighbourhood officers, allowing swift response and apprehension of offenders. Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) are sought for prolific repeat offenders to provide a longer term deterrent.
