About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Burglary

    Action taken:

    • Over this period, there have been 14 residential burglaries across the area. We continue to support with burglary investigations visiting the area of every domestic burglary, carrying out proactive patrols in areas to prevent further offences, supporting vulnerable victims, and working with other agencies to provide security advice.

    Road safety and road traffic offences

    Action taken:

    • We continue to carry out proactive patrols and enforcement activity across the area to target road traffic and road safety offences.
    • We have been working alongside colleagues as part of Operation Aqua-Wave targeting car cruising, issuing Section 59 warnings to vehicles that are causing anti-social behaviour, and public space protection order tickets.
    • Over this period, there have been 13 reported thefts of motor vehicles, 27 reported thefts from motor vehicles, and 10 reported vehicle interferences.

    Drug dealing and drug misuse

    Issued 14 October 2026

    Action taken:

    • Over this period, there have been 17 reported drug possession offences, and four drug trafficking offences.
    • We continue to proactively tackle drug dealing and drug misuse in the area, securing two adult cautions for drug related offences and harassment, as well as two community resolutions for drug related offences and a dog causing injury.
    • Additionally, we will continue to engage with local businesses in key hotspot areas targeting persistent offenders and carry out regular proactive patrols.

    The new priorities for this period (October 2026 to March 2027) are:

    • Anti-social motorcycle nuisance

    Action taken:

    Our priorities are set for a six month period and reviewed every three months to ensure we continue to deal with what matters most to local people, taking account of feedback shared in our local priorities survey and local crime data.
