About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Reducing Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in the City Centre

    Issued 09 July 2026

    Action taken:

The Neighbourhood and patrol officers remain focussed on reducing ASB in the city centre. OP VOLT was launched in April whereby hot spot areas were identified and officers therefore provided high visibility patrols, increased engagement, identification of individuals involved and partnership working with youth justice and Wrexham Council to deal with these matters.

    Actioned 09 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Op Lex

    Issued 09 July 2026

    Action taken:

Nighttime Economy – Continued high visibility patrols on Friday and Saturday nights to support the nighttime economy. This enhanced presence helps prevent disorder, safeguard vulnerable individuals, and provide reassurance to residents, workers, and visitors.

    Actioned 09 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Partnership working

    Issued 09 July 2026

    Action taken:

Neighbourhood officers maintain a strong collaborative relationship with Wrexham Trading Standards and Public Protection, developing intelligence to progress a number of successful seizures and investigations in a number of commercial outlets within the City Centre. These visits have reassured the Community that any information is acted upon, and positive results are reported via social media.

    Actioned 09 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Retail Crime

    Issued 09 July 2026

    Action taken:

Wrexham City Neighbourhood Teams are continuing to work towards achieving the highest performance around retail crime. This does not only affect retailers but also the staff that witness and endure the offenders’ behaviours. A number of repeat offenders continue to cause risk and harm to the community and robust action continues to be taken whilst working hard with retailers to minimise the risk to their stores and shop assistants.

    Actioned 09 July 2026

  • Priority:

Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)

    Issued 09 July 2026

    Action taken:

A new initiative is due to be launched, Op Virtue to further support the Women’s Charter recently launched in Wrexham City Centre. The objective of this initiative is to focus on education for all partners and licensed premises, safeguarding and robust action to be taken around the prevention of Violence against Women and Children. NWP are also working in conjunction with Wrexham Council to create safe spaces within the City Centre.

    Actioned 09 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Increased engagement / hubs

    Issued 09 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers from the Neighbourhood Team will be hosting engagement sessions in the "Cop Shop" and Bus Station. Officers will be frequenting these locations on a daily basis to provide members of the community face to face interaction with North Wales Police officers to address any concerns and or provide advice and assistance.
