About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Partnership working with internal and external partners

    Issued 30 April 2026

    Action taken:

Continue to build on the close working relationships with external partners such as fire service, trading standards, housing associations, Flintshire County Council and immigration to work towards resolving issues within our communities together. Monthly meetings are held with partner agencies to focus on the demand nominals and locations within Flintshire South – this allows us to work together using a problem-solving approach to find solutions to these issues.

    Actioned 30 April 2026

  • Priority:

    Prolific Offenders

    Issued 30 April 2026

    Action taken:

Working with the probation service, our ASB officers and the courts we will continue to focus on the prolific offenders within our communities who continue to commit crime or anti-social behaviour and ignore the consequences of the criminal justice system. This involves concentrating on those who have failed to appear in court by attending addresses linked to them, circulating details on social media and enabling discussions with probation to activate recalls to prison where appropriate. This also includes focusing on those who commit anti-social behaviour and issuing sanctions such as acceptable behaviour contracts, community protection notices and closure orders where appropriate in order to improve the lives of those their behaviour affects. A bi-weekly meeting is also held with local Sgts where these offenders are discussed, along with the actions to be taken in relation to them.

    Actioned 30 April 2026

  • Priority:

    Increased visibility in the community

    Issued 30 April 2026

    Action taken:

Continue increased visibility in the community by ensuring Officers and staff are out and about, speaking with residents about what matters to them. Time out of the station can be tracked to ensure that this is happening. This increased visibility and engagement will also help to target anti-social behaviour across the district. Neighbourhood Officers are encouraged to attend local community groups, especially those in the more rural areas, as well as holding events where residents can raise any concerns or issues in person.
