About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Tackling retail crime

    Issued 09 October 2026

    Action taken:

Officers will increase their visibility through carrying out proactive patrols around hotspot areas in relation to retail crime, in a bid to tackle and reduce business-related crime. We will continue to work with our partners and retail managers to prevent and detect retail crime which has a profound effect on businesses in the run up to Christmas.

    Actioned 09 October 2026

  • Priority:

    Crime Prevention

    Issued 09 October 2026

    Action taken:

Given the darker evenings officers on both response and NPT will be focusing on educating residents about crime prevention through leaflet drops and pop ups in conjunction with the We Don’t Buy Crime team. We will also be running an online initiative to allow the public to contact us about areas of concern in their communities. NPT officers, working together with partner agencies, will look to signpost these concerns and to resolve the highlighted issues.

    Actioned 09 October 2026

  • Priority:

    Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour

    Issued 09 October 2026

    Action taken:

Patrol and Neighbourhood Officers will continue to tackle antisocial behaviour across the district. We will continue to work with our partners to identify long-term solutions to anti-social behaviour. We will endeavour to seek opportunities to prevent reoffending and focus on intervention and education.

    Actioned 09 October 2026
