About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Road Safety across South Norfolk

    Issued 27 April 2026

    Action taken:

We have been invited to some youth clubs which has provided us the opportunity to talk about road safety.

Officers have conducted speed enforcement checks in Winfarthing, Tivetshalls and Long Stratton.

Park patrols have been carried out in Long Stratton to speak to young people following complaints around the use of E-bikes and E-scooters.

Targeted e-scooter patrols in areas of Long Stratton following reports of use.

Officers have carried out a couple of Street Surgeries in Tibenham and Aslacton - and have spoken to the public around road safety and concerns.

Liaising with parish council regarding their SAM2 machines and reviewing results.

Speed checks have been done in Ashwellthorpe, Tacolneston without much issue, and a Traffic Offence Report was done in Long Stratton for excess speed.

Training received on new speed detection equipment from Safety Camera Team which will increase SNT ability and capacity for speed enforcement

On Tuesday 7 July, while dealing with an unrelated incident, officers became suspicious of a motorbike on Swan Lane in Long Stratton.
Following enquiries, the bike was seized after officers established that it was displaying false number plates, had no insurance, no MOT, and had been reported stolen

Another vehicle was seized for no insurance in Tibenham.
