Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Violence against women and Girls

With this priority we will be looking at street offences where violence is threatened or used towards women and girls, this can be where they have been victims of robbery, staff working in shops in our high offending areas for theft, or due to ongoing ASB and drugs related offences.

    Issued 05 March 2026

    Action taken:

Increased high visibility patrols in hotspots areas.
Community engagement events aimed at providing women and girls with a safe space to ask questions and speak to police.
Increased Patrols of open spaces and high footfall areas.

    Actioned 18 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Anti Social Behaviour

Various roads and locations have been reported to police Nursery Road, Queen Elizabeth Drive (Drug Dealing) Leigh hunt Drive, issues are generally drug related.

    Issued 05 March 2026

    Action taken:

    Increase Patrols in hotspot areas.
Greater use of CPW and CPN's when encountering those committing ASB on the ward.

    Actioned 18 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Theft on Chase Side

Theft, primarily theft from shop is still significant on chase side, the recent Op silky saw three arrests of known subjects. But the number of offences remains significant and it remains a number one priority to drive this down further.

    Issued 05 March 2026

    Action taken:

Continue increased presence on chase side, over the last month we have focused on ensuring that there is a visible policing presence on the high road.
Continue to pursue our repeated offenders and bring them to justice.
Continue to engage with the business owners and encourage them to keep reporting instances with as much detail as possible.
Continue to follow up with CBO for those offenders that come into custody to prevent them from coming to the area.

    Actioned 18 June 2026
