About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Theft from / of motor vehicle

    Issued 16 June 2026

    Action taken:

The community has raised ongoing concerns about theft of and from motor vehicles across various areas of the ward.

We will use recorded crime data and intelligence to identify hotspot locations and direct proactive patrol activity. We will work with partner teams across the strand to develop targeted operations, aimed at disrupting and identifying prolific offenders. The goal being to reduce offences and increase public confidence through preventative initiatives.

We will also continue to engage with the community through events, providing crime prevention advice and supporting property marking initiatives to reduce opportunities for offending.

    Actioned 16 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Retail Theft

    Issued 16 June 2026

    Action taken:

Local businesses have raised ongoing concerns regarding shoplifting and repeat offending along the High Street, with a noticeable impact on the local trading environment.

We will work with businesses to improve intelligence sharing and communication between retailers and partner agencies, including the use of emerging systems designed to support information sharing. Op Retail and Op Daim are both operations we will explore to identify prolific offenders and develop targeted activity to address retail crime. Proactive patrols will be directed to affected areas to disrupt criminal activity and provide reassurance. The goal being to reduce offences and support a safe and sustainable business community.

We will also maintain regular engagement with business representatives, offering crime prevention advice and encouraging reporting to support enforcement and long-term problem solving.

    Actioned 16 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Mobile Phone Theft

    Issued 16 June 2026

    Action taken:

The community has raised concerns about an increase in mobile phone thefts and snatches, particularly in and around transport hubs within the ward.

We will use recorded crime data and intelligence to identify hotspot locations and direct proactive patrol activity in these areas. We will look to work with partner agencies, including the British Transport Police and Hampstead Heath Constabulary, to coordinate activity in and around transport networks and associated public spaces. Joint operations and targeted deployments will be carried out to disrupt offending behaviour and identify those responsible, with a focus on tackling repeat and prolific offenders. The goal being to reduce offences and increase public confidence through visible and proactive policing.

We will also continue to engage with the community and commuters through events and high-visibility patrols, providing crime prevention advice to reduce opportunities for offending and increase awareness of personal safety measures.

    Actioned 16 September 2026
