About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Priority 1 - Drug related gang violence
This priority is aimed at reducing the street robberies in and around the Winstanley Estate area. In particular, any streets or public greens such as York Gardens which serve as a thoroughfare for commuters egressing from Clapham Junction who may find themselves as victims of personal robbery, in particular during the hours of darkness later in the year.
Ongoing patrols where our late turn shifts allow serve as a good point to deal with this.
In addition, utilising support from other resources and teams such as the new Neighbourhood Tasking Team, and the Territorial Support Group will assist us in dealing with such issues.

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

Police will undertake targeted patrols at key locations and during identified peak offending times, with particular focus on robbery, drug activity and gang-related violence. Officers will use local intelligence and crime data to identify emerging hotspots and those involved in offending, taking proactive enforcement action where appropriate. Support from specialist and tasking teams will be utilised to increase disruption activity, develop intelligence and target offenders, while working with partners to reduce opportunities for crime and improve community safety.

    Actioned 15 December 2026

  • Priority:

Priority 2 – Drugs and associated ASB
Across the Falconbrook Ward, we have a large problem with Anti-Social Behaviour where Drugs are the precursor.
This is not bespoken to one particular area of our ward, instead it is found to exist in multiple areas across the BCU
DWO’s will map out each crime using Met Insights / PlanWeb, and using this data, we will be able to work out hotspots and as such, co-ordinate patrols effectively.
When at each hotspot, and circumstance permitting, officers will make good use of Stop and Search, and where applicable, good use of the information sharing agreement with the council may assist in dealing with those most troublesome.
ASB comes in many form - such as, noise disturbances from addresses engaged in drug dealing, loitering in and around these areas thus putting neighbours in fear of harm, urination / defecation in stairwells and other public access areas of buildings, graffiti. The list is non exhaustive.
Where we identify addresses that are causing ASB issues and where drugs are the nucleus, we can use ASB powers to good use - such as Closure Orders under Section 80 of the ASB Act of 2014.

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

Officers will focus activity on drug-related offending and the ASB that often accompanies it, using local intelligence, crime reports and community information to identify emerging hotspots and repeat locations. Targeted deployments will be carried out using both overt and covert tactics, with stop and search used where lawful and appropriate. Where individuals or properties are repeatedly linked to drug activity and ASB, police will work closely with partner agencies to pursue appropriate enforcement and preventative measures, aiming to disrupt offending and provide a longer-term solution for affected residents.

    Actioned 15 December 2026

  • Priority:

    Priority 3 – Knife Crime
The involvement of weapons particularly knives when offenders are committing crime within the ward is a concern raised by the community. Utilising various methods including the use of stop and search and proactive officers we aim to reduce this.

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

Police will utilise a combination of high-visibility and covert patrols, supported by intelligence-led policing, to deter and disrupt knife crime within the ward. Officers will make effective use of stop and search where lawful grounds exist, target individuals linked to weapon-related offending, and respond to intelligence and concerns raised by the community. Positive enforcement action will be taken where offences are identified, alongside continued intelligence gathering to identify emerging risks, locations and offenders associated with knife crime.

    Actioned 15 December 2026
